Couples financial planning · Chiang Mai

Reason Harbor Family Finance — money is the conversation couples keep postponing.

Reason Harbor Family Finance works with partners who want to plan their money together instead of arguing about it separately. No joint-account fantasy, no spreadsheet guilt-trip — a shared budget built around how two people actually live.

Myth one

“One joint account fixes everything.”

It rarely does. Merging every baht into a single pool tends to reproduce the same spending imbalance that caused the friction in the first place — only now both names are on the statement. The couples who make shared money work are not the ones who merge the most accounts, but the ones who agree, in advance, what each pool of money is for.

In our sessions we map three pools before anything else: shared household costs, individual spending that needs no permission, and joint goals you are saving toward together. That structure does more for a relationship than any single account ever can.

The couples who argue least about money are the ones who decided the rules once, together, instead of negotiating every transaction.

— the working principle behind every Reason Harbor session

How a shared budget gets built

Three sessions, one shared plan

We do not hand you a template and walk away. Each couples session moves you from “we should really sort out our money” to a written plan both partners have signed off on.

Who this is for — and not for

Honest about the fit

This work is for couples who live in or around Chiang Mai and want to plan jointly — partners merging households, two-income families juggling remittances, or spouses who have simply never sat down and aligned on money. Sessions are in English and priced in Thai baht.

It is not for anyone looking for investment advice, securities recommendations, or a regulated financial product. We do not sell insurance, funds, or loans, and we do not take a commission on anything you choose to do with your money afterwards.

Objections, answered

What couples ask before booking

Do we both have to attend?

Yes. Shared budgeting only works when both partners are in the room. Sessions are built for two; we will not run one with a single spouse present.

Is this financial advice I can act on?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. We help you plan and manage your own money together. We do not recommend securities, insurance products, or regulated investments.

What if one of us earns a lot more?

That is the most common starting point. We build a contribution structure you both consider fair — proportional, equal, or hybrid — before any number gets written down.

Do you keep our financial details?

Only what you send through the inquiry form, for the sole purpose of replying and running the session. No analytics, no third-party trackers. See our privacy policy.
